Is it realistic to get a straight/slight slope with my nose? (Photo)

Question

My dream nose is the one that is straight with a very slight slope and to take away the hump and how it sticks out in certain pictures... I hate my profile. Also I'm concerned not knowing if I have thick skin or thin? I'm okay with how the tip looks, I would just like take away the beak look. Thank you! I also added the nose I would like... Is that realistic?

I made a computer morph out of one of your photos, and an animation of the morph, showing the changes that are possible in your nose, in truly expert hands.I elevated the tip of your nose slightly, and took down the bump on the bridge. Your skin seems to be average in thickness, so it wouldn't get in the way of achieving a result like this. From the front, we would want a small narrowing of your tip.You should understand that the changes I demonstrated in the morph require advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle.  Be sure to read the section in the "Web reference" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon.

Based on your photographs, it is possible to achieve your goals.  It is possible to reduce the dorsal hump of the nose with bone rasping and cartilage trimming.  This can be done in a conservative manner for a natural looking result.  The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with.  With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. The dorsal hump is composed of both cartilage and bone and can be shaved down in order to give a slight slope to the bridge line. The thickness of the skin in the tip of the nose is only determined at the time of examination and consultation. Computer imaging performed in the office setting would also be helpful to give you an idea what can and cannot be accomplished with the procedure. Rhinoplasty is a difficult endeavor, and one of the most difficult procedures to perform correctly and the entire field of cosmetic surgery,  so choose your surgeon very wisely based on extensive experience. Your situation is a common goal for many patients in rhinoplasty. Your profile is to convex and your tip underprojected.  You should definitely be able to achieve your goals with rhinoplasty. Be sure you have some computer imaging and good communication with your surgeon demonstrating the result you are looking for.

I do not think what you are asking to achieve is impossible to do. You just have to make sure your surgeon understands that you want a bit of swoop or concavity to your dorsal line. The traditional approach would be to keep your dorsal line straight with maximal structural support.

Thank you for your question. The best way to answer the question would be during a physical examination. From the pictures it appears that you should be able to get your desired result from a rhinoplasty. I can can not tell if you have thick skin from a picture. The best way to determine if you have thick or thin skin is from a physical exam.

Hi, I have performed many Rhinoplasty Surgeries over the past 30 years.  From the before and after examples, the results shown are realistic IMHO.  Rhinoplasty would be able to reduce the dorsal hump, creating a slight curve to the nasal bridge which is appropriate and feminine.  The nasal tip can be refined and made more naturally attractive as well.  I would like to point out that your chin is a bit weak. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear
larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face appear shorter which
de-emphasizes the shape and fullness of the lips.  Chin augmentation,
using a chin implant, will add projection to the chin creating harmony and
balance to the lower face.  I have found placing a silastic chin implant through
a small, curved, incisions under the chin to be very safe, quick, highly
effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty that requires bone
cuts with placement of screws and metal plates. I frequently perform Chin Augmentation along with Rhinoplasty to create harmony and balance to the face.

Rhinoplasty Goals. Your goals seem very realistic. Your profile can be improved and the tip refined. It is difficult to determine skin thickness with these images but yours seems to be average; it is definitely not thick.
