I recently finished Accutane and I want to get my nipples pierced. Is it safe?

I know that accutane can interfere with the healing process! I took my last accutane pill Monday. Is it safe to get them pierced Wednesday?

Good question!  We used to recommend waiting at least 6 months after Accutane to have any procedures done, but recent literature supports the view that you don't have to wait quite as long to have anything elective done to the skin.  To be safe, you might want to wait about 2 months, but beware that the chest and upper back can be prone to keloid scarring, whether you took Accutane or not.  So follow your dermatologist's advice and also be careful where you have the piercing done.
