Dislike prominent nasolabial folds and cheek fat when smiling - would facial lipo or buccal fat removal help? (photos)

Question

When I am not smiling, my nosalabial creases are not really noticeable at all. However, when I am smiling, they become very prominent. As do my marionette lines, the cheek fat above the creases becomes very round and filled looking. And my side cheek fat also becomes more prominent. I have heard that facial lipo or buccal fat removal could help. Any advice?

Thank you for your question and photos. Since you don’t appear to have an overly rounded face shape, you’re unlikely a candidate for buccal fat removal. However, Botox can reduce the lines you’re referring to while providing a slimming effect to the lower third portion of the face. Botox injections can target the muscles causing the lines to appear when you smile, reducing their activity and thus reducing the appearance of lines. Dermal fillers might also provide benefits by adding fullness to the cheek area and creating better proportions to the facial contour overall.
I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced injector. They will be able to discuss your concerns with you and determine the best treatment option.

Your face is well balanced and appropriate for age. There are no surgical procedures that can change the way your face appears when you animate (smile). These dynamic changes are best treated with botox. However, the buccal fat pad reduction procedure will slim your lower face and provide better contour to your cheek and improve the Ogee curve.
