25-50 cc are increasingly incremental differences in size. They matter more in a smaller breast and with smaller implants. We have our patients spend a great deal of time "sizing" prior to their procedure in addition to performing "dimensional analysis" of their breasts. This allows us to collaborate with the patient to hopefully provide them with the best result we can.
Differences of 50 mL are very subtle and possibly can only be noticed by trained professional. Significant differences start in my opinion from 75 mL to 100 mL that a patient can notice.
Your question is a very common one for women seeking breast implant surgery. 25cc of fluid is about 2 TBS worth of fluid. There are subtle changes from 325cc to 350cc implants. What may be more important than the final size is the type of implant that is used. If you have a small chest wall, a high profile implant may be used, and 25cc difference may make a larger difference than what would be seen in a moderate profile implant. My advice would be to make sure you try on different implant sizes, and the surgeon will help choose the correct type of implant that fits your body and chest measurements. It is also not uncommon to use two different sized implants so that your result will be as symmetric as possible (since many women have one breast that is slightly smaller or larger than the other). I hope that this helps in your decision in choosing the appropriate implant size.
When we talk about cubic centimeters/cc, think of it in easier dimensions. 25cc is rougly 1.5-2 tablespoons. 100cc is a third of a can of Coke. Those are dimensions that most people can relate to. whne it comes to an implant, there is not much difference between a 325cc and a 350cc. However, the diameter of the implant changes, as does the projection, and this is where the difference may be seen more than any volume change. I hope this helps
Most women wish they gone somewhat larger when asked a year or so after breast augmentation. If your choosing implants in a range of 325 to 375 I would suggest you go with the 375.
This size difference will not be noticeable in clothing. In terms of finding the optimal size, It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill
DearRg0771,The25-cc increments are quite subtle, but if you are smaller body habitus andsmaller breasts, putting in those two different sizes on the two breasts, youwould probably be able to pick out which one had the larger implant in it. Wehave found it very helpful to have women put on a sizer bra and try the variousimplant sizes to judge their size and have found this to be very effective inselecting the optimal choice.Ihope this has been helpful.RobertD. Small differences in breast implant volume will make little difference in cup size. In general every 175 to 250 cc of implant volume will equal one cup size. The main problem I see is if the implant gets too wide patients who have small breast do not want side breasts.
Thank you for the question. Depending on the patient's body type and goals, a 25 cc difference in breast implants generally do not make a significant difference clinically. For some patients, a 50 cc difference may make a noticeable difference. In regards to specific size/profile of breast implant, despite good intentions, online consultants will not be able to provide you with meaningful specific advice. Ultimately, in person consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons will be necessary. Careful measurements, dimensional planning, and careful communication will be key.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Again, have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining which operation and/or breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during this communication phase.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. The use of temporary intraoperative sizers with the patient in the upright position are very helpful. I hope this, and the attached link, helps.
As sizes go up so does circumference and height if implants. Small increments give subtle customizable options for final impact in breast shape and fit to your body. That is the reason implants are made with 25 cc differences. To sum it up small changes in fill are capable of giving big impact to final LOOK.
Dear Iluvseminoles88, Thank you for your post. In general, most women who have a disturbance in nipple sensation, whether it be less (hypo-sensation), or in some cases too much (hyper-sensation), the sensation goes back to normal with 3-6 months. Occasionally, it can take 1 - 2 years to be...
Thank you for your question. If you're seeing results then continue with your planned. Perhaps strengthening and looking your pectoralis muscles have improved the appearance of your symmastia. If it works for you then by all means continue.
I am sorry to tell you this, but I am fairly confident there is not a good solution. I treat a lot of implant-caused "uniboobs" (should be called symmastia), and so i am referred a lot of patients like you. I have tried everything, presented the cases to others, and no plastic...
