Can I Just Have My Nipples Repositioned?

Hi, thanks for your question. Repositioning of the nipple areolar complex is a standard part of a breast reduction or uplift procedure. It is usual that if the nipple is sitting low in relation to the breast tissue, then the shape of the breasts would also benefit from the skin being tightened at the same time as repositioning the nipple. Your breast tissue can either be maintained or some of it removed, depending on what you hope to achieve with surgery.

Without being able to examine you or see pictures, it is hard to present you with your unique surgical options. That being said, there are multiple options to reshape the breast mound and/or change the nipple position if you are unhappy with it. I suggest you seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss those options. If the first person does not help you to get a solution to your problem or explain it to your satisfaction, I would seek another opinion.Best of luck to you!

It is very hard to give you recommendations without a physical examination. However, when plastic surgeons consults on "low nipples," we typically define nipple position on the breast as breast ptosis. There are different grades and surgeries designed to correct each grade. However, when I interview patients and ask  why they feel their breasts are  "sagging", I get many explainations. Some of these explanations corretlate to  loss of superior breast pole volume, loss of skin laxity, ptosis, pseudoptosis, etc. I think it would be a great idea to get another opinion (or get another appointment with your current plastic surgeon and inquire further) and ask alot of questions, so you understand how your concerns can be addressed.
