Thank you for your question. Laser hair removal destroys the hair follicle, therefore the hair in the follicle falls out and typically does not come back. The hair follicle has to be in an active growth phase in order for the hair to respond. Even if the hair follicle is treated, if it not in an active growth phase the hair will grow back. During each treatment about 25% of the hair is in active phase. This is why you need a series of treatments. You should see less hair growth as you progress through your treatments. Best of Luck!

This is a very good question.  What happens with hair removal is the hair follicle is destroyed by the laser. The hair in that follicle falls out and usually does not come back. The hair follicle must be in a certain phase of growth (the active growing phase) in order for the hair to respond..Therefore even if the hair follicle is treated, if it is not in the active growing phase the hair will grow back.  Depending on which area of the body  you are having treated most hair grows in cycles of about a month or more. During each cylcle about 25% of the hair is in the active phase.  That is why you need a series of treatments are needed to treat all the hair follicles. The growth that you are seeing is the hair that did not respond to that treatment. You should see less growth as you go through the series.
