Cryolipolysis causes high ketones?

I've had coolsculpting done 3 times now on my abdomen, and in my recent urinalysis I had high ketones. High ketones are caused by burning fat as fuel. Could I have high ketones due to coolscultping and burning off fat?

No, it is unlikely that coolsculpting caused high ketones, because it is a gradual reduction of fat. I recommend following up with your Doctor to go over your test results. Keep in mind, with Coolsculpting a combination approach is needed for best results. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Thanks for your question and the simple answer is that after years of study, CoolSculpting does not cause any changes in blood enzymes or electrolytes and so this will not be the cause of your problem.  I would speak with your primary care physician to make sure nothing is else is going on with you.

Hi bobbarat, thank you for your question.  I would suggest a follow up visit with your physician to help you determine the actual cause of your high keytones.  CoolSculpting freezes and kills fat cells in targeted areas.  These fat cells begin to die off over the period of a few days, and are then removed slowly by the bodies own lymphatic drainage system over a three month period.  You can rest assured that this would not be detectable in the bloodstream, and certainly not to the level needed to register as high keytones.  I hope this information is of help to you.

It is more likely diet related (fasting/low carbohydrate diet ) , or exercise and /or your pancreas lack of insulin production . When you don't produce enough insulin your body breaks down fat storages and produces ketones bodies. There have been several studies that show coolsculpting does not change blood electrolytes or cholesterol components.

The Cryolipolysis would not have caused the high ketones.  The process of cryoliposis leads to gradual changes in fat cell apoptosis and metabolism that would not be detectable in blood tests.  The ketones are more likely to be due to your diet or exercise.
