Is it possible to cause damage my nose by yelling and crying 4 days post op Rhinoplasty?

I am 4 days post op froom a septorhinoplasty and just got in a screaming match. It lasted 5 minutes, but I did yell, get upset, get my heart rate up and I could feel myself srunching my nose under my splint. I did not get a nose bleed, but Iam wondering if I could have caused any internal damage. I did also cry for a few minutes. I also have a graft in the tip of my nose and cartilage added to the sides of my nose for nostril support. Thank you for your answers. I'm very concerned.

Don't stress too much as you have not caused any permanent damage to your nose.  Activities that increase your blood pressure (like sreaming) can temporarily cause swelling and bleeding of your nose, but will not impact your final result.

I don't think you have anything to worry about but check with your plastic surgeon anyway. Four days after rhinoplasty the nose is remarkably stable.

If you did not get any bleeding with this episode it is very unlikely that you did any permanent damage to your nose.

It's not very likely anything happened. Still, best to try to stay relaxed and calm during recovery...and for your normal life as well! :-)

It is very unlikely that the nose can be damaged simply from yelling four days after surgery.  If anything the swelling may worsen from an increase in blood pressure.  It is best to sleep with your head slightly elevated with about 3 pillows and to avoid strenuous physical activity to help decrease the swelling.

Follow up with your Plastic Surgeon for an exam to confirm you are healing normal. It is unlikely that you caused damage, but anything is possible.  Best wishes!
