It will take about a month for your areola to start shrinking although it can take 6 months or longer for all of the swelling to resolve. Your chest will continue to change and improve daily so be patient. It is a process. Best of luck.
Depending on the size and appearance of your gynecomastia, you should see a real difference right off the table. They will continue to shrink and darken in color over time but the difference is usually immediate. The only concern I have with your comment is that it's possible that there is still tissue underneath the nipple-areola that hasn't been removed in which case it won't shrink much with time. Time will tell though!
Hello and thank you for your question. The areola may start shrinking at about 4 weeks, as the swelling goes down. It may continue to shrink and the final result may become apparent in about 9 to 12 months.
Thank you for your question. Typically the areola will shrink when the tissue behind it, the glandular and fatty tissue is thinned. We typically see this effect take place on the operating table at surgery. As long as there is still thick tissue behind the areolae, the areolae will appear thick or puffy. Be sure to express your concerns with your surgeon and keep him or her aprised of your progress.Best Wishes,Dr. Morrissey

I can't help you with this inquiry unless you provide photos. If you have tissue fullness that can be treated this will help with the crater issue. An internal flap can be used to fill this in. Maybe a scar release and some combination of the procedures. Need a photo. I can tell you that this...
Thank you for your question. Ten days is very early to assess scar quality. The problem with approaching gynecomastia via an incision under the nipple/areola is that as the incision heals, the scar can adhere to the underlying tissue and distort the appearance of the nipple and create an...
