There are a few phases of healing after a chemical peel burn. Once the skin has healed, there may be some pigmentation in the skin. Thank you for your question. Be sure you are only using gentle products for your face while the burned area is healing. Use a mild cleanser and moisturizer in the evening and the same cleanser with a face sunscreen during the day. You may want to apply Aquaphor to the burned area until it heals, keeping it well hydrated will reduce the risk of a scar forming. Brown patches after a chemical peel are not uncommon. If you are worried you went too deep with the peel, apply a ceramide cream such as Elevase and then follow up with a skin lightener. In our office, we use Melarase creams. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
