I have my patients STOP ALL sources of Vitamin E, e.g., Vitamin E pills, multivitamins, Slim Fast Ensure Plus, ALL HERBS, e.g. Ginko, Garlic, Ginseng, Natural or health preparations e.g. bee’s pollen, protein powders, etc. 1 week before surgery. Post-operative guidelines are provided based upon outcome of surgery. Best to obtain the approval of the PS who performs your BBL and TT before drinking ginger tea.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Each doctor has their own protocol It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.Good luck :)
Every plastic surgeon has their own postoperative protocol for the type of procedure patients. In my practice, patients are allowed to have ginger tea at 2 weeks, in low quantities, post-surgery to allow with the help of digestion etc.
All blood thinners must be stopped prior to surgery. We provide our patients an extensive list 100+ products that include certain fruits, supplements, vitamines, etc. that should not be taken during the peri-operative period. Ginger is another supplement that must not be ingested.
