After placement of under-eye filler, will it always change shape because it attracts water?

Once under eye filler is placed such as restalyne/boletero will it always expand or decrease in size as it attracts water? (crying, showers, washing face) or does it stay the same....

Restylane under the eyes

Thank you for your question.  Once Restylane has settled, you should not see day-to-day changes in terms of how much water is held by the hyaluronic acid filler.  It is important, however, that you go to a very experienced injector as this requires a detailed understanding of the underlying anatomy.

Eye Fillers and Swelling

There often is some swelling after under eye injections.  Some products such as Juvederm are too thick and attact too much water.   There is also some bruising in this area which leads to edema.  Best to consult an expert in this delicate eye area.

Under Eye Fillers

Belotero and other hyaluronic acid fillers can hold water.  Typically conservative doses and use of cannulas limits complications.  Best, Dr. Emer.
