CO2 laser: 12 months ago I had my last laser treatment out of 4 sessions and I still have redness of that treatment? (photo)

Question

I waited 12 months for it hoping maybe it can heal itself but it doesn't. Is that normal? Is it permanent or what? Is there any laser type to help me with that? It's really disturbing. I can get another treatment for that but i don't wanna make it worse please help me with that

I am sorry that you are battled prolonged redness after your CO2 laser.  The fractional CO2 is an excellent skin rejuvenation treatment, but we do sometimes see persistent redness after it.  The good news is that this is rarely permanent and can almost always be treated.  We offer a series of Infrared Light treatments after a CO2 and have found those dramatically decrease redness.  If they don't work, we can always do an IPL, which is a big more aggressive, but works very well to get rid of underlying reds.

Thank you for your question mvmlegend. I am sorry to
hear about your situation. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an outstanding
treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single treatment. Prolonged redness can be seen after such treatment. In our office we normally have patients follow up at approximately four weeks after the treatment. If they have redness we treat them with IPL at that time. Other vascular lasers such as KTP, pulsed dye, and Nd:YAG can also be used. Sometimes a second treatment with IPL is necessary a month or so later. But most of our patients see significant improvement in the redness. Of course sun protection is also critical. Please consult with a doctor for specific

Hi There Thank you for your question.The answer is relatively simple - there is a treatment called dermalux that involves shining a special lamp on your skin for 20 minutes 2-3 x week. This works fine and will usually heal it.
