What Can Be Done to Alleviate the Headaches Caused by Dysport Injections?

I'm approx. 48 hours post injection and the headache isn't lightening up, it seems to be getting worse. I've got pretty severe pain in the forehead (Dysport injections in forehead, between the eyes, and crows feet). What can be done to soothe the pain? I've tried Aleve with some relief. Can I ice? Is it too soon to massage the area? The headache feels like a lot of pressure in my forehead.

Only a small percentage of patients experience headaches after cosmetic botulnum toxin treatment. Generally this side effect is sufficient for many to decide not to have future treatments. This reaction may be idiosyncratic or it may be technique dependent. Call your injecting physician and see what they recommend. Generally the headache will go away after a couple of days.

Shellabella, have you contacted the physician who performed the injections? He/she will want to know you are experiencing headaches after the injection to determine the reason why, give you proper course of treatment and suggestions, as well as it needs to be documented in your chart for next time. Dysport is a great product but there are others out there to try too. Best of luck to you.
