First of all, it has only been one day since your procedure and you cannot predict what the long-term result will be.  The incision location should have been discussed during your preoperative evaluation.  This is a basic question that you should have asked about. The good news is that these wounds typically heal very well. The long-term result is usually very good. It does take some time however for the wound to heal and for your scar to mature. It can take a year or more for the scar to fade in color.  Try to be patient. Best wishes.

I always mark out with the patient the incision location for this type of procedure. I try to keep the scar hidden in the area where there arm meets there chest when they are at the side of the body with the arms down. I can not always achieve that if the axillary breast is large. This should have been discussed preop. But your incisions are brand new and they often go on to heal very well with time..

You had surgery-yesterday????  If you cut yourself and had even a paper cut, would you assume that it would stay open or unsightly forever? Of course not.  I continually wonder whether other surgeons discuss what a surgical wound will look like, the course of healing, duration of the process and ultimate scarring!   Please don’t freak out and understand that healing is a process. It will take a year for the scar to reach its final appearance. Good luck!
