Will smoking 2-3 cigarettes post facial fat transfer cause ALL THE FAT TO DISSIPATE??

Hello, Thanks for sharing your query. Smoking reduces the blood supply and causes lot of oxidative stress on the tissue. Yes it does affect the fat graft take and final results. But since you have discontinued for 2wks after the procedure which is very crucial for results. Try to discontinue smoking in future. Followup your operating surgeon.

Hello Watkins1,With fat transfer small amounts of fat are placed throughout the tissues in the face/body.  The ability for this fat to take depends on the blood supply in the area.  Smoking long term decreases the blood flow to all areas of the body.  Actively smoking at the time of fat transfer or in the perioperative period can affect the ability of the fat to take in the transplanted area.  I would recommend you discuss your concerns with your surgeon but any nicotine in the body will decrease wound healing. I hope this helps and good luck.
