Two weeks ago, I may have accidentally tore out a mole on the back of my shoulders because I thought it was a pimple. I realized it immediately, cleaned the blood off, and bandaged it. My mother attempted to pop thinking it was a pimple on 12/03/24. This caused it to become red and inflamed. Four days ago, it turned into a scab and fell off, but I'm not sure if that's a typical healing process or something more serious because I noticed a tiny smooth pinkish lump where the mole was.

It's understandable to be concerned after accidentally injuring a mole. In many cases, when a mole is torn or injured, it can become red and inflamed as part of the healing process. The formation of a scab and subsequent healing with a pinkish lump or scar tissue is also common and usually not a cause for alarm. However, it's important to monitor the area for any changes that could indicate a more serious issue.

Here are some signs to watch for:

Changes in color, size, or shape of the area where the mole was
Persistent redness or inflammation
Itching, tenderness, or pain
Bleeding or oozing that doesn't stop
The development of new or unusual growths
Given your concerns, it's advisable to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist for a thorough evaluation. They can assess the area to ensure that the mole was benign and that the healing process is proceeding normally. If necessary, they can perform a biopsy or other diagnostic tests to rule out any serious conditions. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to changes in your skin.
