An ice pack (or bag of frozen peas) can help reduce some of the soreness. As always, when applying ice packs to any area, be sure to protect your skin by keeping a cloth between the ice and your skin. I wouldn’t recommend applying heat to your chest area. You might find that sleeping in a more elevated position (such as in a recliner) can make sleep more comfortable. If soreness persists, ask your doctor for their recommendations. Best of luck!
