Belly button removal: How do they do surgery to completely remove a belly button with no replacement?

Will I be cut open or will it be a small scar. Also what is the recovery time on this surgery. I'm really really over weight can you tell me how this is going to effect me with my pain level, also I have a very i high pain tolarance for pain meds, it takes a lot for me.

Thank you for your questions. Without some additional details or pictures, it is hard to tell exactly what you are asking. Sometimes with a panniculectomy, the umbilicus is removed. If this is a concern for you, you need to discuss that with your surgeon.Best of luck!

Before you get caught up with the idea of losing your belly button you should schedule a few consultations with various surgeons to discuss your issues/concerns and see what the different doctors would recommend as treatment options.  There are multiple ways to remove excess skin but that can only be determined with a physical evaluation.  Best of luck!
