I'm 10 days post op from a verticle breast lift with 350 cc saline implants. I am an ER nurse who just returned to work. Even though I'm on light duties, it's very hard to abide by the recommendation of no lifting anything over 10 pounds. We frequently transfer patients, push stretchers, chest compressions, etc... What are the risks of lifting heavier objects? Can I cause a deformity to my implants or displace them? When is it safe to resume normal duties in a physically demanding job? Thanks
Answer: Weight Training after Breast Surgery You make take gentle walks within a few days following your #surgery. Light #activity may be started 7-10 days after surgery. If your work keeps you sedentary, you may return whenever you feel up to it. If your work is strenuous, wait until your work activity does not cause any superficial pain. Do not begin light aerobic #exercise for 3 weeks and strenuous exercise for at least 6 weeks. Let your body tell you what it can tolerate. It is always recommened to call and see your surgeon to discuss your healing concerns.

Answer: Breast Lift Recovery I am not going to say anything that your surgeon and others below haven't already. 10 days is too early to be lifting things. Speak with your surgeon to see if there's anything that you can do to decrease your danger, but I advise my patients to wait at least a month before returning to heavy lifting. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: Activity after breast augmentation Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has a specific post operative protocol they like to use for different surgeries. In general, after a breast augmentation and breast lift surgery you will want to wait at least 4-6 weeks before performing strenuous activity or activities where you are pushing/pulling or lifting greater than 5-10 lbs. Limiting your activity will reduce complications and an undesired result. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Answer: Healing Thank you for your question. At only ten days post-op, you are in what I would consider to be the beginning stages of the healing process. It is absolutely crucial that you take extreme caution when it comes to over-working yourself after a breast lift. I tell my patients that they should not do any heavy lifting or exercise for at least six weeks after the procedure. Follow up with your surgeon to see what his or her recommendation for you would be. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
