I was on Propecia for 2 months when a shed began. I read on some forums that Propecia can have a "shedding phase" but it then stops and grows back. So I stayed on Propecia for an additional 2 and half months after the shed began. It never improved so I stopped. My dermatologist said he had never had a patient experience this "shed." I am considering trying Propecia again. Have you ever actually seen someone go through a shed and then it stopped and they experienced no more hairloss?

From board-certified doctors and trusted medical professionals
If you have a receding hair line and it is due to genetic balding, you cannot "stop" it. There are medications that may slow it down or stop it temporarily. There is also a hair transplant surgery option to "add" hair to the receding hair line.
Your doctor probably will not try to harm you. If you believe your treatment is not safe or do not trust your doctor, seek a second opinion from another doctor you trust. It is not clear what medical condition your are diagnosed with or what medication is "follihair".
