I'm a 34 year old woman. Been having hair fall since I was 22 . Prescribed minoxidil 5% & follihair tablets. Is it safe?

Been having hair fall since I was 22 which stopped when I was pregnant For the last 3 years I was on minoxidil 2% and it worked very well but now the hair fall has resumed with clumps of hair coming out. I have now been prescribed minoxidil5% and follihaur tablets. The hair loss stopped in 12 days since I started the therapy. But is it safe for me to be on minoxidil 5% and will it continue to work for me in the long run?

If the sides of your hair has not grown back in over a year, it is likely permanent from traction of wearing braids.  Hair transplant surgery may be an option.

Minoxidil only work as long as you keep using it.  If you use it for awhile and notice a gain in hair and you stop using it, then the gain (you got from the medication) will be lost.

IF you accidentally put a hair removal cream on your scalp, you will lose hair. IT is take time for the hairs to grow back.  Hair transplant is not the solution.  Time is the likely solution.
