The aftercare for my patients following laser resurfacing with the erbium yag is very straight forward. We use dilute vinegar soaks and petroleum jelly. this allows for gentle exfoliation and moisturizing with a nonalllergenic product. Deeper resurfacing requires longer downtimes and may need some oral antivirals or antibiotics but this is based upon the patient history and the depth of resurfacing. In almost all cases the vinegar soaks and petroleum are necessary to optimize results and minimize risks.
