How Can I Remove White Spots from my Legs? It's Not a Sun Spots?

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Thank you for your question. You need to see a Board Certified Dermatologist and diagnose the problem, and then evaluate your options. This may be a sun damaged area and the pigment is lost. There are ways to stimulate the pigment, but there is a chance you will always have the white spot, or get more. I hope this helps.

dermatologist so that a proper diagnosis can be made as to what is going on
with your skin. One of the more interesting things that we see as we get older
is scattered areas on the legs, and occasionally the arms, where we loose
pigment – this is known as idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, and is very
difficult to treat, but is perfectly benign. Sometimes we will use an excimer
laser here – but many treatments may be needed to get a good result.



So go find a good
dermatologist and see what is going on and if there is anything that can be
done for you.
