Ho do I get rid of an inner lip tattoo?

I got an inner lip tattoo 8 years ago of my current husband's name. Since the divorce I have wanted it gone. I only got it because all discussion boards said the tattoo would fade out but it never did not even a little bit. I have bit out the skin of the first letter hoping it might be gone when it healed. That did not happen at all and it didn't even cause it to fade. How do I get rid of this.
