Are 450cc saline under muscle a good size for my body type? I am 5’6 and 130lbs. (photos)

helloo thank you for your question and provided information as well.. based in your question and the picture you showed you are a good candidate for breast augmentation in you case sub muscular , i think is much better in your case 410cc .its recommended if you get  a consultation on personal with  a plastic surgeon to discuss all about theme.

The implant selection should be based on a combination of your desired size, soft tissue dynamics, breast base diameter and skin elasticity. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).

Thank you for your pictures and questions. The sizing of implants is a delicate conversation depending on your unique body and measurements as well as your goals. Based on what you goals, I do not think what you have chosen seems unreasonable. Great question!  I usually tell patients you will loose about 10% of the volume after it is placed inside your body so for a 450cc implant it will be about 45cc's so you're correct!  However, the difference between 450 and 475 is very minimal, almost negligible and probably won't notice a difference.  A shot glass is 40cc's so you're talking about a size change of half a shot glass.  Most patients, if asked whether they would go bigger or smaller, wish they went a little bigger so between two different sizes that are very close, I recommend going a little bigger.  I don't think you can go wrong with either implants and looking at your photos should get you very close to your goal photos.  450cc should get you a little over 2 cup sizes.Best of luck and hope this information helps!

You are a great candidate for a breast augmentation.  450cc should accomplish your goals. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   Best wishes and good luck.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

It is not wise for you as the patient to take on the worry of picking out your breast implant. That is indeed the role of your plastic surgeon. That said, the most common reason for patient disappointment after breast augmentation usually relates to size. This means that either communication between the patient and the surgeon was not sufficient before surgery, or the surgeon's judgment during surgery did not achieve the outcome that the patient expected. Cup size is notoriously unreliable, and images of patients in bathing suits or lingerie can be somewhat helpful but the key is to provide your surgeon with images of other women's breasts (preferably from that surgeon's website) whose appearance aligns with your wishes and expectations. This is the procedure we follow in our own practice with a unique functionality on our website called "What Size Should I Be?"If you remain unsure, please discuss this further with your plastic surgeon. If that still leaves you uncertain, consider a second opinion with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question and photographs.  I think you are starting from an excellent position and should anticipate a nice result.  Breast implant selection is an exciting, but stressful part of the breast augmentation process as there are so many choices. Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. I would recommend seeing additional ASPS board certified plastic surgeons to ensure that the implants you decide upon are the right ones to meet your expectations.  It sounds as if it may be wise for you to "try on" several of the implants so that you can have a better visual representation as to what they would look like.  Best wishes! 

Patients often think in terms of cup size when considering augmentation. Unfortunately, devices are sized in terms of milliliters (cc) of volume. This can lead to some confusion when sizing. Additionally, it is important to remember that cup size itself is not standardized with variations from one manufacturer to another. Unfortunately, as many women can attest their cup size in an industry leader such as VS is not necessarily transferable to another brand.
Another point which is often under appreciated is that of anatomy and starting point. Any implant will add volume to the volume which is already present. The implant is additive. A particular volume will not necessarily confer the same cup size to different patients (often times it will not even confer the same cup size to different breasts in the same individual...remember they are "sisters" not "twins"). 
A general rule of thumb is that 125cc can represent somewhere between 1/2 to a full cup size increase. Smaller volume differentials (25-50cc) are typically less consequential representing a volume change of less than a shot glass. However, I have found these numbers, at least anecdotally, to be of little help. Patients often present with notions/goals which do not correlate with these sorts of sterile volumetric assessments.
When sizing patients, there are a number of useful tools including:
-3D imaging (has the added benefit of offering a volumetric analysis of the pre-operative breast)
-Breast sizers (rice bags)
-Goal photos
I also recommend that patients commit to a particular look rather than a cup size. Once a patient settles on a look that pleases them the overall cup size increase becomes less relevant.The key to obtaining a natural result is to stay within the parameters defined by your BWD. 
With regards to your specific question, the differences between the options you are considering are subtle. From a volume perspective 25 cc is not significant and is likely to represent a difference of millimeters in projection and width (25cc 5 teaspoons). If you are unhappy with 450 cc, it is highly unlikely the additional 25 cc would have changed your mind.

The saline implants you describe will provide a voluptuous result similar to your goal photo. During your pre-operative visit you can share these photos and further discuss your goals with your plastic surgeon. Before and after photos of his pre and post operative patients will also be helpful in making a final determination.
