Is topical Soolantra too oily for phymatous rosacea?

I have an oily T- zone with some textural changes to nose and chin. want to address any demodex issues before laser and other meds. Best

Thank you for your question. Soolantra is a cream so it is a bit greasy however it is really the best pharmaceutical topical medication for rosacea. If you have oily skin and can tolerate some drying, you can always add a retin-a like product or wash with benzoyl peroxide. For people with phymatous changes, I generally recommend an oral medication as well.

Indeed you can try topical Soolantra prior to consideration of lasers. Generally if there is thickening- as with phyma, the use of ablative lasers maybe indicated. For topical treatments, your GP can prescribe. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim, Brisbane. Australia.
