350 cc or 375cc? (photo)

Question

I decided on round silicon under the muscle but i can not decide between 350cc or 375cc!! I am 20, i weigh around 54kg and 165cm tall. I fit a size 10B just, and would like to be a 10D. Will 350cc get me to a D or should i go with a 375cc? What do you recommend? Please help!

This is a very common question.  Patients often have a difficult time deciding between various size implants.  The difference of 25cc is very little.  When patients are between two size with very little difference such as the two you are deciding between, I encourage them to go with the bigger size.  Good Luck

There is no way to guarantee a particular bra size. Bra sizing varies greatly between bra manufacturers and a C in one bra will be a D in another. What matters more than the assigned bra size is the way the implant looks on you. The best option for your body and aesthetic goals can be determined in a thorough implant sizing session.Implant sizing depends on several factors. One of the most important factors is your breast width. Generally, your surgeon will measure your breast width, and then provide you with a range of implant sizes appropriate for your native breast size. There are more nuances to it than just what I've described, but this approach works for most women.I usually have my patients bring in a large bra and a tight t-shirt to do sizing. I'll then choose 3-4 implants that I feel are appropriate, and have my patients place them in the bra under the tight t-shirt. My patients can then look in the mirror and get a good sense of what they will look like with the provided implant sizes. My patients like this approach and get a great idea of how they will look.By using this technique, your surgeon can outline a range of appropriate implant sizes that will be aesthetically pleasing, and you make the final decision.I hope this helps. 25CC difference is actually quite small, just a little more than a tablespoon in volume. The actual dimension difference is 1-3 mm between the two implants. In my experience, the most common comment after surgery is that my patients wished they picked the larger one.

You should not be stressing about 25cc. Selecting the right implant size and profile is a complex process. It should begin with communication between you and your surgeon. You should be discussing issues such as your goals and concerns. Bring in photos to your surgeon which show what you want to look like. Your surgeon can tell you if this is possible and what it would take to get you there. It is most important for your surgeon to understand your goals rather than focus ion a specific cup size. if you are happy eith the look than you will be happy with the cup size. Good luck.

Hi there. You will get a great result with either size. I recommend going with the 375cc, based on my experience that most women would rather they were a little bigger than be a little smaller following augmentation. The reality is that it would be very hard to spot the difference, but you will feel like you have made the right choice if you go the slightly larger size. BTW if you were my patient I would recommend your implants were placed over the muscle; this eliminates "animation" when flexing pec muscles, and the implants are less likely to move from where thay are placed. I tend to recommend sub-muscular placement when ribs are visible in the upper chest.

Your question is a very common one when talking about breast implants with patients.  A very general rule is that the addition of about 150cc will increase cup size from one cup to another.  Also, it is almost impossible to promise a bra size, as sizing is so variable between companies.
That said, the difference that you're talking about of 25cc will probably be almost impossible to see.  The actual difference in size of the implants is probably 1 or 2 millimeters!

Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires.The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill

Congratulations on your decision to proceed with your sugary! Going from a 350cc to 375cc is only a 25cc difference which is about 5 teaspoons.  It's not a large difference and will most likely not make a huge difference in your results.  After surgery, many patients say they wish they went a little bit bigger so if you are worried about being too small, then opt for the 375.  Remember, going under the muscle, you will lose a little bit of the projection.  Good luck! ac
