Is it normal to feel the port implanted under your skin, from adjustable breast augmentation? Can your body reject the port?

I am 4 days post op and i was adjusting my garment when i felt something poke me! It was my port! I freaked out! Upon further examination I notice that i can feel both ports! When i sit i feel it poke me! There is slight irritation on my skin right above where the port is, not at the incision, just over the skin! I have been on antibiotic, but this is all so creepy to me! What happens if i need to get the port removed before the 3 month grace period? Is it normal to feel the port like this?

The port for an adjustable breast augmentation is placed under the skin where it can be felt.  If there is redness over the port, it should be evaluated by the plastic surgeon that performed the surgery to make sure that there is adequate tissue coverage over the port and that it is not placing too much pressure on the skin from the inside.  Also, it should be evaluated to make sure there is no signs of infection.
