Should I go to 325cc or 375cc to achieve a full C/even small D? (Photos)

Hello! Many patients have a difficult time choosing implant sizing before breast augmentation. My recommendation is to discuss this further with your surgeon, as the dimensions of the implant (width and projection) are often more important than volume (cc's) in determining the overall outcome of surgery. Additionally, I use 3D breast imaging software to demonstrate the differences in implant sizes on your body specifically. This may be helpful for you to decide as well, if available at your surgeon's office. Best wishes! 

Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, I would recommend 375cc to get you closer to your goal photos. Most patients after breast augmentation surgeries, say they “wish they would’ve gone bigger.” So when you’re between two sizes, I recommend going with the larger of the two. Best of luck!

Thank you foe your question and photos. It is very difficult to pick the perfect breast implant to give you your desired result with photos alone. My personal approach is to begin with breast implant sizers which you try on in your own clothing. That way you get a good idea of what is too small, too large, or just right. I then use Vectra three dimensional photographic simulation. The device takes a three dimensional photo of you and allow me to add implants to your image showing you what specific implants can do for you. The difference between 325 and 375 cc is not large but you can decide not only which volume is best, but also which profile of implant can get you to your desired result. There are many details which go into the planning of your breast augmentation. You should feel comfortable with your decisions before the operation.

An ABPS board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant for your measurements and desires.  Measurements of the chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. If you want more volume, the implant profile can be shifted from a moderate profile implant to high profile implant.  Try on a profile bra of various implant sizes the PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tight sweater, swimsuit, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected.   Work your way up or down from that size (325 - 375cc) to determine the size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy.  Choosing an implant based on an aesthetic goal that exceeds your anatomic capacity may lead to complications and possibly revision. Remember that there is no standardization of cup sizes between bra manufacturers.

Thank you for your question.  It is difficult to predict what cup size you will be as every bra company has different sizing standards.  The best way to get a sense of what size best suits your goals is to see a plastic surgeon for a thorough breast consultation.  At our clinic, patient's who are good candidates have the opportunity to receive Vectra 3D imaging which provides a digital image of a particular breast size and profile.  You may also have the opportunity to try on different sizers to give you perspective on the result you are seeking.  @yorkplasticsurgery

Thank you for your photos and your question. Sizing is probably the most stressful part of a breast augmentation. Patients most often worry that they will go too big and sometimes after surgery they are happy but wished they had gone larger. There are several ways to determine sizing before surgery and we have successfully used implants in a sports bra in a vast majority of my patients for the last 23+ years. You are an excellent candidate for a breast augmentation. 325-375cc will look very nice on your frame. In my opinion, you may want to go little larger than that based on your wish photos. Thank you for your question and photographs.  I think you are starting from an excellent position and should anticipate a nice result.  Breast implant selection is an exciting, but stressful part of the breast augmentation process as there are so many choices. Unfortunately it is impossible to recommend the best implant style, size or shape without an in-person examination that allows for the measurement of key breast parameters, as well as permits an in-depth discussion as to your desired goals and outcome. Unfortunately there is no direct correlation between implant cc size and ultimate cup size. I would recommend seeing additional ASPS board certified plastic surgeons to ensure that the implants you decide upon are the right ones to meet your expectations.  It sounds as if it may be wise for you to "try on" several of the implants so that you can have a better visual representation as to what they would look like.  Best wishes! 

Patients often think in terms of cup size when considering augmentation. Unfortunately, devices are sized in terms of milliliters (cc) of volume. This can lead to some confusion when sizing. Additionally, it is important to remember that cup size itself is not standardized with variations from one manufacturer to another. Unfortunately, as many women can attest their cup size in an industry leader such as VS is not necessarily transferable to another brand.
Another point which is often under appreciated is that of anatomy and starting point. Any implant will add volume to the volume which is already present. The implant is additive. A particular volume will not necessarily confer the same cup size to different patients (often times it will not even confer the same cup size to different breasts in the same individual...remember they are "sisters" not "twins"). 
A general rule of thumb is that 125cc can represent somewhere between 1/2 to a full cup size increase. Smaller volume differentials (25-50cc) are typically less consequential representing a volume change of less than a shot glass. However, I have found these numbers, at least anecdotally, to be of little help. Patients often present with notions/goals which do not correlate with these sorts of sterile volumetric assessments.
When sizing patients, there are a number of useful tools including:
-3D imaging (has the added benefit of offering a volumetric analysis of the pre-operative breast)
-Breast sizers (rice bags)
-Goal photos
I also recommend that patients commit to a particular look rather than a cup size. Once a patient settles on a look that pleases them the overall cup size increase becomes less relevant.The key to obtaining a natural result is to stay within the parameters defined by your BWD.Patients are discouraged from struggling over small differentials as this rarely makes a significant difference in outcome (50 cc is roughly equivalent to a shot glass).

Many women struggle with selecting their breast implant size. For my patients I have found the "rice test" works very well for women to visualize how they will look with breast implants. Uncooked rice is placed in a nylon stocking and tied into a knot. A woman can test out the sizes and weights of the various sizes by placing them in her bra with her own breasts.
A cup of dry rice represents 250 cc of volume. One may add to this volume in small increments to the desired size. One might try 1 cup, 1¼ cup, 1½ cup, 1¾ cups, et cetera, until the desired breast volume is achieved. Patients who have used this method have a high satisfaction rate with the implant size they ultimately chose.
