I've always had breathing problems since I can remember, breathing is hard at times. I've been waiting on the day when I could get this problem fixed but I was just not aware of exactly what I could do. Recently I've heard that my insurance can cover the Septoplasty (which I truly do believe I need) but it was always an idea of mine to also get my hump removed/carved because it would save me from having 2 surgeries. If so where could I go? I live in Winston Salem N.C . I really need suggestions

You'll have to look at your insurance booklet to see who is in-network versus out-of-network. In addition to that, even though you pick an in-network physician, you will still be expected to pay for co-pays and deductibles associated with your medical insurance. Medical necessity  must be met at the time of the examination and consultation, and then preauthorization with your medical insurance  before the surgery occurs.  There are many issues on the inside of the nose that can cause nasal obstruction, this must be sorted out at the time and examination to meet medical necessity. The cosmetic rhinoplasty must he paid for by the patient. Both procedures can be performed together under one anesthesia with one recovery period. Most plastic surgery offices have arrangements with third-party financing companies so it's best to check with each individual office about that. Digital computer imaging can also be performed at the time of the examination to get a good understanding of what can be accomplished with your nose upon your facial features. Rhinoplasty is cosmetic surgery for you, and will not be covered by insurance. Many things besides deviated septum can cause nasal airway obstruction including allergies and smoking. Get an in-person evaluation by a board certified facial plastic surgeon for evaluation for both breathing and cosmetic issues. Good luck!
