Answer: Your options There are two great options to consider: 1. IDEAL implants - these are newly released "hybrid implants" double lumen saline implants made to feel like silicone2. I will place silicone implants in patients under 22 yrs old but first have an informed consent and have them sign a waiver that they are aware that they are being used in "off label' FDA use. #IDEALimplants#breastaugmentation#breastimplants

You may have these implants as an off label use which will void their warranty, but can be done. You may very well be a saline candidate without this age restriction and may even be a candidate for a TUBA procedure without any visible scars. Please look to see a board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in breast enhancement.

Answer: Yes Ch 19: You are correct in that the FDA has cleared silicone breast implants for use in woman 22 years and older. How they came up with this arbitrary number is a mystery. Silicone implants still CAN be placed in women under 22 years of age however, as an "off label use." We use medications and devices off label very frequently and it is not a problem.Good luck with your augmentation!
