Is 11 year too young to get Invisalign/ braces?

My DD is 11 years old and her bottom teeth are crooked. So I’m planning to take her to our family dentist Dr. Hagi in Thornhill for getting her invisalign braces. One of my friends told me metal braces will work better than invisalign. Is that true? Is she too young to get invisalign braces?

HelloThanks for your question. At 11 years old she should be ready for braces , however growth and development varies from person to person. I strongly recommend to have a consultation with a specialist in Orthodontics. An Orthodontist has extensive training in the field , beyond a regular dentist. Invisalign works great in the right cases, but I'd think that an 11 year old is too early because he/she will likely experience significant growth during the treatment and Invisalign can't predict and plan that into the case.  Braces can be adjusted accordingly as the case unfolds and growth is incurred.
