Hello, I had an open Rhinoplasty done 13 months ago and one side of my nose looks different than the other. Are my results normal? Could this be uneven swelling? Is there anything that can be done to alleviate this? Any advice will be helpful! Thank you.

Answer: Rhinoplasty results The previous answer discussed several important points. In regards to what can be done, the options are surgery versus filler. In your case, the mild dorsal hump is most prominent closer to the tip and would be somewhat difficult to improve using the filler method in my opinion. The advantages of filler are easy recovery (need to avoid pressing on the nose/sunglasses/glasses for 2-3 days). The disadvantages are that it dissolves naturally overtime and so it requires repeat filler treatments. Surgery is permanent, however it is more difficult if someone has had rhinoplasty previously. Also, it is important to remember that the cartilage has what is called "memory". This means it tends to bend back to its original shape even after it has been adjusted.
