P. Daniel Ward, MD
Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

Dr. P. Daniel Ward is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon practicing in Salt Lake City, Utah. His expertise covers a wide range of facial cosmetic surgery with a specialized focus on rhinoplasty, face and neck lifts, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). He is also well versed in facial reconstruction procedures. “I chose facial plastic surgery because it combines artistry with science and engineering principles,” says Dr. Ward. “I love to be able to combine my artistic sense in this way, to allow a patient's natural beauty shine through.” He chose to specialize in facial plastic surgery “because the face is our identity.” The goal of every procedure at Form Spa, is beautifully simple: “we help patients improve their lives by inspiring confidence,” Dr. Ward explains. “Whether we are taking down the hump on the nose in a rhinoplasty, improving jowls with a facelift, or treating droopy eyelids with a blepharoplasty, we are working to create the best possible version of the patient and allow their true self shine through.” Dr. Ward takes pride in a level of aesthetic sense that sets his practice apart. He also points to their “down-to-earth approach, in combination with top-level service, results, and education, to provide the best possible experience for our patients.” This combination has fueled an international reputation for excellence that draws patients from across the U.S. and beyond. He then went on to pursue fellowship training in facial plastic surgery at the University of Michigan, later serving on the faculty as a clinical lecturer. Afterward, he returned to the University of Utah to join the faculty there, introducing various innovative facial plastic surgery techniques that had not yet been performed in or around Utah. Dr. Ward is revered for his vast medical knowledge, artistic surgical skills, and passion for helping his patients find a renewed sense of self-confidence and happiness. He is a sought-after plastic surgeon in Utah, consistently placing in the top 1% of physicians in patient satisfaction. She is so knowledgeable and gave me so much information

Daphne did my IPL today on my facelift scars and also my hands. She is so knowledgeable and gave me so much information. She took her time to educate me and to tell me exactly how the laser works, what it addresses and what to expect. I could not recommend her enough. Ask for her! She is amazing!!!!!

10/10 HydraFacial

I had an excellent experience at Form Medical Spa. Mitch did an amazing job with my HydraFacial. To start he was so welcoming and just very friendly. I've never had any kind of facial before, but he walked me through the steps and was really knowledgeable about the whole process. I left with my skin feeling 1000x better than before.

Q: If I were to invest in one procedure to increase my overall attractiveness, what would you suggest?
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 16, 2020

A: Thanks for your question. Based on the photo, I think that you have attractive facial features that could be enhanced with some procedures. Seeing other views of the face would be helpful to try and get a better idea of the 3D structure of the face. Having said that, I think that a rhinoplasty would help as would buccal fat removal. Good luck!

Q: Is it necessary to prep the thick oily skin for rhinoplasty? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 16, 2020

A: I have never heard of that particular regimen to prep the skin prior to surgery and I am not sure how it would improve your result. Having said that, I think that your question definitely highlights the issue of thick skin and how to deal with it prior to surgery. There are some facial plastic surgeons who will have their patients use accutane before and after rhinoplasty to help improve the skin. This can lead to improved results. I think that I would advise you to talk to your doctor about the reasons why those treatments were recommended prior to proceeding.

Q: Mens Closed Rhinoplasty: am I a candidate given the tip ptosis and dorsal hump? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 15, 2020

A: Thank you for your question. A rhinoplasty can be a life-changing procedure. Whether you want to proceed with an open or closed rhinoplasty should be considered after conversation with your surgeon about the pros and the cons of the procedure. In my opinion, the choice of approach to the nose is less important than the overall goal. There are multiple great surgeons in your area. I would look some up, go on some consults and see which surgeon is best suited to you and your goals. I wish you luck!

Q: Callous 1 year post rasping revision rhinoplasty. Is another rasping needed? Should I go with a different doctor? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. WardSeptember 19, 2020

A: Thanks for your question. I would definitely recommend that you discuss with your surgeon. I suspect that your surgeon suggested that you press on the area to see if that resolved the issue. Swelling and scar tissue can be a big issue in rhinoplasty. If the issue did not resolve with massage of the area and with time, you may need to have another procedure and I am certain your surgeon would want to evaluate it. If you are interested in sending a photo of the area, we would be happy to take a look and make further recommendations. Good luck!

Q: Would a revision be necessary? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. WardSeptember 19, 2020

A: The answer to your question about whether you need a rhinoplasty revision or not depends on you and your wishes. Your nose certainly has some issues that can be improved with a revision procedure. Your nose certainly has some issues that can be improved with a revision. I advice that you seek out an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
