Hi! So I've finally made the decision to get rid of my fat face (been looking into this since my early 20's, I'm now 32.) I've always been a relatively smaller girl, (fluctuating from a size 6 to 10 throughout the years.) And I've always felt like my face makes me appear 10lbs heavier than I actually am. I CRINGE and die a little inside when I see photos taken of myself where I wasn't looking or prepared for it. It literally ruins my day. So I'm super excited (but also pretty nervous) to FINALLY get this done!

Just had my pre-op appointment yesterday with Dr. Leber. I went into it feeling very nervous and anxious (I tend to focus on all of the worst case scenarios) and have been going back and forth with the "Do I REALLY need this?" "What am I doing?!" And Dr. Leber alleviated all those fears. He was kind, confident, supportive, and gave me his cell number so I could text him at any time if I had any new questions or concerns I want to address with him. He answered all of my questions thoroughly, and walked me through the whole procedure. I walked into the appointment feeling scared and unsure of the whole thing, and I walked out feeling very excited and ready!

Ahhh so excited and nervous! I'm anxious to get this over with and into recovery. I wanted to add some more before photos too. (Ugh can't stand looking at them, so embarrassing.) Can't wait to see the after pics! One thing I keep thinking about though is how my doctor instructed me to wear the head garment 24/7 for only the first 4 days, and I'm reading from everyone on here that they had to wear it for 2 weeks. I told him that too, and he assured me that the 4 days will be enough but I can wear it longer if it makes me feel more comfortable. It would be awesome if only the 4 days is needed! Fingers crossed

All done and on my way home! I’m blown away at how quick the whole thing was. Here’s the breakdown:
1. Took an oxy and a Valium 20 min prior to help with pain and anxiety, which was definitely helpful.
2. Sat down in the chair and Dr. Leber marked my neck of the areas he was going to work on.
3. He then gave me the numbing shots. I’m pretty good with needles so this didn’t bother me toooo much. Just your normal needle pinching. I was probably stuck about 8 times or so. Some people said this burned, but I didn’t feel any burning sensation.
4. We waited about 5 min for the numbing to kick in. Then he made the incision (didn’t feel it at all.) and then he injected the saline/lidocaine solution. THIS was the part I didn’t like the most. I felt my whole chin/neck area blow up like a balloon, it felt like a football was inserted in there haha. It wasn’t painful, just uncomfortable. We sat and waited 10 min with this.
5. Then then sucking began. Didn’t feel a thing. A little pressure, but this was a piece of cake compared to the saline solution. He inserted the canula and slowly went back and forth inside my chin for about 8 min. 8 min that’s it! And I was done
6. He put the chin strap on and sent me on my way.
I’m in no pain at all at the moment. Gonna go home and ice and rest up. Can’t wait to take this off in 24 hours to get a look! So crazy, still can’t believe I did this and it’s already over with!

I posted this yesterday but for some reason it didn’t post? Anyway - overall I felt pretty good, definitely more sore than the day before. Sleeping has been tough, as I’m never a back sleeper and then adding the elevation makes it even harder. I probably got like 2 hours total the first night. So I’m just trying to nap during the day to make up for it. Also, I’m really glad I made a bunch of smoothies and froze them beforehand since chewing isn’t an option yet!
I took the compression garment off and I am SO happy with what I’m seeing! Still swollen, but I know it’s only going to get better! Yay!

Not much new to update, still feeling great! Everyone was totally right though with this compression wrap.. going to try and stick it out for 4 more days of wearing it all day and all night (although it keeps falling off during the night, so annoying!) And then I’m going to switch to only wearing it during the day (I work alone in an office with my boyfriend so wearing it to work isn’t an issue.) I just need to sleep again!
I hope I see more of a difference as time goes on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with my results so far but everyone else’s on this site seems to have a more drastic difference at this point. I know it’s still early and I’m still swollen, so I’m trying to stay positive!

Woke up very swollen today. Looks like I didn’t even get it done :( I know I have to be patient and that it will go back down, I just want to look like I did 24 hrs later! I am pretty happy though that I’ve had no bruising whatsoever. I think all of the fruit and veggie smoothies I made the 2 weeks prior really helped with that.

Muuuuch better :) I slept elevated last night so I’m guessing that has something to do with how swollen I am the next morning. I can’t wait for my 1 week follow up appointment tomorrow to see what my doctor says and see his before and after pics. Overall I’m very happy with the ease of the whole thing, the care of Dr. Leber, and obviously the outcome. Being as nervous as I was before just seems silly now haha. Like everyone else here has said... wish I’ve done it sooner! I’ll probably wait a month before posting another update, but if anyone is thinking about getting this done, please feel free to contact me with any questions! I’ll be happy to be your cheerleader haha :)

Quick update! It’s been a little more than a month. I’m still massage 2-4x daily. No banding or hard lumps. Looking better each day and I know it’s still going to get better in the next couple months :)
