Best staff and Surgeons, drove from Jacksonville to be seen by the best!! Just one day post op and my life is forever changed. Down to earth yet professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Gocken and team!!
Absolutely outstanding experience. Dr Bassin himself was an incredible doctor with an amazing amount of knowledge. All the office staff were true advocates for the brand, physicians and the patients. The day of the op they sent a limousine to pick us up, wait for us and then drop us back home again - wow. The post-op appointment was smooth, quick and informative in their beautiful new offices. We are so thankful to Dr Bassin, Trish, Cindy and Vicki for making surgery an “enjoyable experience”. We have already recommended the Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery to around 10 of our friends and family and we will 100% be returning in the future for any more work that we would like done. THANK YOU all for what you do. You don’t just make people look better, you change lives and remove inhibitions.
Hey guys! Didn't see too many male reviews on here so I thought I'd share my experience. I just had the procedure done today:) I was overweight all my life up until my sophomore year of high school when I adopted a super healthy lifestyle, started working out (weight lifting, cardio a few times a week), watching what I eat, etc. All but two areas of my bodies seemed to 'get the memo', leaving just my love handles and a pouch around my stomach still clinging to pockets of fat. Fast forward about four years and those same areas still haven't changed despite my weekly exercise routines. I finally decided to have a consultation here in Orlando, Fl, and see what options I had. I was initially interested in a noninvasive form of liposuction (laser, ultrasonix) but ended up deciding on aqualipo due to it's advertised downtime and quick results. I booked a consultation at the Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery here in Orlando and went in. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating, and Dr. Bassin was great too. He assured me he could remove the most fat with his aqualipo method and would only charge me $2800 due to me not having too much fat (this was only for my love handle area, which is my primary concern). Fast forward to today. I had bought my abdominal binder, the prescribed antibiotics, a topical antibiotic ointment, arnica for the bruising and fresh pineapples to eat for the swelling. OH, and Kotex pads lol. Exactly what they recommended; yet it still felt so awkward buying them lol. The procedure was at 9am this morning. They prepped me (I loved his RN Belinda, she was very informative and helpful.) After being marked up we began. I opted to take no pain medication and was very alert during the entire procedure (not for the faint of heart). Four incisions were made, first the numbing solution was injected (ALOT of pinching and burning), followed by a laser treatment (Dr Bassin told me this was for skin tightening and heating of the subsurface fat... very comfortable), and then the actual liposuctioning itself. That was painful only due to the occasional jab with the cannula into a portion of my muscle. A few times he would move in my line of sight as he jabbed to suction out the fat. I definitely turned my head away as it was nauseating to feel the pressure AND see the rather violent movements of his arm with the cannula into my body. I survived, it was over, and I was draining like crazy(picture a waterbed being poked in four places). They patched me up and I returned home. By the time I was home (only an hour after finishing the procedure) I did need to change my bandaging as I had already 'leaked' through everything including my shirt. I would recommend a black shirt for after this procedure, just to conceal any wet spots ;). I've changed my dressings at least three more times today. I wasn't prepared for how messing the changing would be. I don't stop 'leaking' long enough to get new dressings on! Lol I can't shower for another 14 hours or so. My areas are still pretty numb, and I can tell a lot of the solution is still inside me. My only concern is the area hasn't lost too much mass, and I can't determine if it's because there is remaining fat or simply solution still left over. I'll try and take pics at my next change of dressings. Updated on 6 Oct 2013: I can see changes! Here are some updates. I stopped draining heavily by the second night (about 36 hours post op). I worked all day yesterday (48 hours post op) and was fine. I can definitely see changes in the upper area of where he performed the procedure.
A few years ago I had liposuction of the stomach and flanks at the Bassin center. First, I consulted with Dr. Bassin but they had a different doctor perform the surgery. Day of, the surgery was HOURS late. Finally, I was on the table, "numbed", incision points made and I was pumped with a liquid. I was supposed to be getting laser assisted lipo but suddenly it wasn't working so the doctor went in the old fashioned way.Once he got to the left side of my abdomen it was very clear I wasn't numbed. It was quite literally like being stabbed. After the surgery they didn't give me any pain medication and that night I was woken up by my father who was taking care of me because I was screaming and crying in my sleep. The next day after surgery I had to go back across town to get a pain medication. To the day (years later) I still have pain around my flanks from how deep he went in with the cannula. I have never been the same. Beware. I feel like I was duped. I was young and naive and I feel like I was taken for a ride. (I couldn't list the correct date for this procedure due to limitations within the app but it was from 2017.)
The surgeon I dealt with here humiliated me. I was a patient of the Bassin center a few years ago. I received the “FUE” hair restoration procedure. Not only do I feel embarrassed about how the consultation went down, but I feel scammed due to lack of results. I scheduled a consultation with their FUE spokesperson, Ron Doria. He is a previous recipient of the FUE procedure, who has undergone multiple surgical procedures by the Bassin Center. He is NOT a physician. We spoke for about 30 minutes regarding the procedure. At the end, he gave me a black marker and had me give him an idea of where I would ideally want my hairline. He assured me that the surgeons at the Bassin center were the best, and that I’d leave fully satisfied with no questions asked. The day comes for me to meet the surgeon for the first time. He asks me to draw a line indicating where I would want my prospective new hairline to be. I drew the same line that I had previously drawn with their Mr. Doria. The surgeon laughed at me. He laughed lightly, and said “That’s a woman’s hairline. Are you transitioning from male to female?” I had never been so embarrassed in my lifetime. “No,” I responded. (If I indeed was someone transitioning, would it be okay to laugh at me? Is it appropriate for a Physician to embarrass a patient based on their decision to undergo gender-affirming procedures?) He then said that I was going to have to cancel my procedure if that’s the hairline I wanted. The only problem is that I already paid a $700 down payment on the procedure that would not be refunded. He told me I was SOL unless I drastically changed my expectations. This wouldn’t be a big deal if their own spokesperson had not filled my head with false expectations before I paid a $700 down payment. I was stuck between paying $700 total and cancelling, or paying $7000 and receiving a surgery that I did not agree to before paying. I opted with the second option, as $700 for a college student with nothing to show would be a total waste. I received a $7000 FUE transplant that resulted in absolutely no change to my appearance. It was not indicative of what I wanted in my initial consultation. The results are unnoticeable. I am a male in my early 20’s. I am a college student who has struggled with my own appearance from a very young age. Being only in my first couple years of college, this procedure was the amalgamation of funds I’d saved up for years. The Bassin Center’s lack of empathy, their cavalier nature to me as a customer/patient, and their deceptive manner of acquiring prospective clients leads me to write this negative yet completely honest review. I have multiple friends who have also been considering getting an FUE procedure done but have not been able to decide on a location as I have been telling them to avoid the Bassin Center. As a current medical student, I was appalled and embarrassed by this surgeon’s lack of doctor/patient etiquette. I understand and respect the concept of physician’s autonomy. What I don’t respect is the idea of luring in a patient with a free consultation, requiring them to pay a 10% down payment before meeting with an actual physician, and then being told that what they want is not possible. I guess I’m the fool here and I deserved what I got for not being more conscientious of what I was signing. Hopefully whoever reads my review will think twice before hiring this plastic surgery center. Save yourself the embarrassment and disrespect that came from my encounter with their surgeon.
