Can see change...
I can see changes! Here are some updates. I stopped draining heavily by the second night (about 36 hours post op). I worked all day yesterday (48 hours post op) and was fine. I can definitely see changes in the upper area of where he performed the procedure.
Hey guys! Didn't see too many male reviews on here...
Hey guys! Didn't see too many male reviews on here so I thought I'd share my experience. I just had the procedure done today:)
I was overweight all my life up until my sophomore year of high school when I adopted a super healthy lifestyle, started working out (weight lifting, cardio a few times a week), watching what I eat, etc. All but two areas of my bodies seemed to 'get the memo', leaving just my love handles and a pouch around my stomach still clinging to pockets of fat. Fast forward about four years and those same areas still haven't changed despite my weekly exercise routines. I finally decided to have a consultation here in Orlando, Fl, and see what options I had.
I was initially interested in a noninvasive form of liposuction (laser, ultrasonix) but ended up deciding on aqualipo due to it's advertised downtime and quick results. I booked a consultation at the Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery here in Orlando and went in. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating, and Dr. Bassin was great too. He assured me he could remove the most fat with his aqualipo method and would only charge me $2800 due to me not having too much fat (this was only for my love handle area, which is my primary concern).
Fast forward to today. I had bought my abdominal binder, the prescribed antibiotics, a topical antibiotic ointment, arnica for the bruising and fresh pineapples to eat for the swelling. OH, and Kotex pads lol. Exactly what they recommended; yet it still felt so awkward buying them lol.
The procedure was at 9am this morning. They prepped me (I loved his RN Belinda, she was very informative and helpful.) After being marked up we began. I opted to take no pain medication and was very alert during the entire procedure (not for the faint of heart). Four incisions were made, first the numbing solution was injected (ALOT of pinching and burning), followed by a laser treatment (Dr Bassin told me this was for skin tightening and heating of the subsurface fat... very comfortable), and then the actual liposuctioning itself. That was painful only due to the occasional jab with the cannula into a portion of my muscle. A few times he would move in my line of sight as he jabbed to suction out the fat. I definitely turned my head away as it was nauseating to feel the pressure AND see the rather violent movements of his arm with the cannula into my body. I survived, it was over, and I was draining like crazy(picture a waterbed being poked in four places). They patched me up and I returned home.
By the time I was home (only an hour after finishing the procedure) I did need to change my bandaging as I had already 'leaked' through everything including my shirt. I would recommend a black shirt for after this procedure, just to conceal any wet spots ;). I've changed my dressings at least three more times today. I wasn't prepared for how messing the changing would be. I don't stop 'leaking' long enough to get new dressings on! Lol
I can't shower for another 14 hours or so. My areas are still pretty numb, and I can tell a lot of the solution is still inside me. My only concern is the area hasn't lost too much mass, and I can't determine if it's because there is remaining fat or simply solution still left over. I'll try and take pics at my next change of dressings.

Awesome. We talked about medical school literally during the entire procedure.
