Calf augmentation involves placing solid silicone calf implants on top of the gastrocnemius muscles. For patients with naturally small calves, even with vigorous weight lifting, there is very little chance to improve the size of the calves without surgical help.

	Patient's calf muscle did could not get any larger by exercise alone, so implants were necessary to achieve the perfect and proportional calf size.


Calf Augumentation

Patient wanted calf augmentation with implants. After selecting appropriate implants shape and volume we proceeded with calf augmentation surgery. Implants were placed underneath the muscle fascia covering a medial head of gastrocnemius muscle. Incision, scar was placed in the po[pliteal (knee) crease. Patient is shown before and 10 months after surgery.

This patient was unhappy with the lack of muscle fullness of his lower legs, especially on the inside between his calves. He requested calf implants and a natural result. He is pictured here only one week after surgery after having Implantec medial implants placed in the subfascial space. The tape is still present over the incisions. His results will actually improve and become more pronounced after two to three months when the space relaxes and allows more projection of the implant. He is extremely happy with his results.

The scars will continue to fade over the months ahead. She is very pleased with her new proportions and natural results.

61 year old male 2 years after exchange of his medial calf implants performed by Dr Sam Gershenbaum. His original medial calf implants placed, 2 years prior by another surgeon, had used non-tapered implants and were positioned at the wrong depth and in the wrong position resulting in a very unnatural appearance. Here two years after exchange of implants to Dr Gershenbaum's custom tapered implants replaced in the correct subfascial position now look full, shapely and muscular and very natural. Another very happy patient!
