My 48 year old patient 4 months post Facial Fat Transfer, Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty. The excess skin from her upper eyelid has been removed and the under eye bags are no longer and the volume loss has been restored in her mid face from the fat transfer.


	Lifting the lateral canthus can be done many ways. This time we created a sling of lower eyelid ligament and attached it right to the orbital bone. This sort of repair is pretty major, but not doing it will lead to droopiness down the road. This way, she will have a great result that lasts.

The procedure was done at the surgical center and took one hour. The patient went home the same day. Complete healing can be completed in 6 weeks. The excess skin was removed from the upper eyelids. This super-active woman in her 50's presented with the concern of constantly puffiness under her eyelids.  They were always present and could not be concealed with make-up.  She stated that she always had plenty of hours of quality sleep, but this did not help with her concern neither.  We planned together to perform a lower blepharoplasty under local anesthesia with mild oral sedation in the office.  Under both eyes, a small incision was made under her lashline allowing for access to the fat bags.  Delicate manipulation and removal of the fat was performed and tiny sutures were placed to close the incisions.  Total procedure time was approximately 1 1/2 hours.  She was able to return to the gym to exercise one week after procedure.

Eyelid Surgery

This woman presented to our Center with the request of rejuvenating her upper and lower eyes.  She felt that her eyes always looked tired regardless of how much sleep she had nightly.  We agreed that treating both her upper eyelids (skin removal) and lower eyelids (fat bag removal) would help make her appear more awake and refreshed.  The procedures were performed under local anesthesia (with mild oral sedation with xanax) in our office.  Her results demonstrate significant improvement in the contour (ie puffiness) under her eyes, as well as opening her upper eyes so that the lids can now be seen.  She stated that she felt physically less tired on a daily basis since she no longer had the upper eyelid skin sitting on her eye and creating downward pressure.  The procedure time was under two hours, and her sutures were removed after five days.
