Laser treatment for 10 weeks, namely a lower power QSL every 2 weeks combined with specially compounded creams and sunscreen can give this result. Melasma is notoriously difficult to treat, however using the correct combination of creams, lasers, and sun protection, improvements can be seen in the majority of my patients. The laser also stimulates collagen production over time, and the result is that not only has pigmentation and melasma improved, but wrinkles have decreased. This equates to betters skin texture.
