This is a 64 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer. Prior to undergoing a left mastectomy, she meet with Dr. Neaman to discuss various immediate breast reconstruction options. The patient elected to undergo immediate breast reconstruction following her mastectomy with the placement of a tissue expander. She recovered without significant difficulty and underwent a series of expansions over the course of several months. The tissue expander was eventually exchanged for a permanent implant where a breast augmentation mastopexy (breast lift) was performed on the right breast for symmetry. She is awaiting to undergo nipple reconstruction under local anesthesia on the left breast soon.
