Gynecomastia Surgery


	Gynecomastia or male breast reduction corrects the over-developed or enlarged breasts of men. Breast Reduction is done under general anesthesia. Incisions are made around the pigmented area (the nipple areolar complex) and extend vertically below the nipple and in the fold under the breast. The nipple areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location, while excess breast tissue, skin, and fat are removed.

	This 12 year old boy was teased repeatedly by other children, and would never remove his shirt in front of others. Following gynecomastia surgery, his chest is flatter and he is no longer embarrassed to remove his shirt.

Age 25Procedure: direct excision of breast tissue and chest liposuction.

This patient is a 27-year-old male who presented to my office with complaints of excess fullness in the chest bilaterally. I felt that a combination of liposuction and glandular tissue removal would give the patient the best overall results.  Correction of gynecomastia was performed with liposuction and direct tissue removal via small areolar incisions.  This patient recovered quickly and was pleased with the smaller, more masculine appearance of his chest and areolas.

Patient had liposuction as well as direct excision of tissue.
