Our patient is a 53-year-old White female who achieved an incredible weight loss of more than 240 pounds through diet and exercise, but was left with excess skin in her lower torso that kept her body from reflecting her hard-earned transformation. After a major weight loss, stretched skin often does not shrink back enough on its own, especially around the lower torso, where skin laxity can affect comfort, contour, and clothing fit. To address these concerns, Dr. Timothy Katzen performed a 360 lower-body lift under general anesthesia, a post-weight-loss body contouring procedure designed to remove loose skin around the entire circumference of the waist and improve the shape of the lower torso. During surgery, Dr. Katzen carefully planned the incision so he could lift and tighten the lower torso from every angle, removing the hanging excess tissue in a controlled manner and reshaping the remaining skin for a smoother, firmer result. The procedure can also improve the position of the pubic region and create a better transition between the waist, hips, and buttocks, which is especially important after massive weight loss. Once the contouring was complete, the incision was closed in layers to support healing and help the tissues settle into their new shape. Circumferential 360 Lower Body Lift for Excess Skin After Weight Loss

After losing a significant amount of weight, our patient wanted his body to truly reflect the dedication and discipline that helped him transform his health. He is a 44-year-old White male who once weighed 315 pounds and successfully reduced his weight to 165 pounds through diet and exercise. While the weight loss was life-changing, it left behind large amounts of excess skin around the waist and back that could not tighten on its own. To help complete his full-body transformation, Dr. Timothy Katzen performed a 360-degree lower-body lift combined with a back lift, also known as a torsoplasty with a vertical incision, to remove loose skin and restore smoother body contours. Under general anesthesia, Dr. Katzen carefully planned the surgery to address the excess tissue from multiple directions. The 360  lower-body lift focuses on removing redundant skin around the entire circumference of the waist, including the abdomen, flanks, lower back, and buttocks. During this portion of the procedure, the excess skin was removed in a controlled manner, and the remaining tissue was lifted and tightened, helping create a firmer waistline and improving the transition between the abdomen, hips, and buttocks. This technique is especially valuable for patients after massive weight loss because it treats the front, sides, and back of the body simultaneously rather than focusing on a single area. To further refine the contour of the upper and mid back, Dr. Katzen also performed a torsoplasty with a vertical incision. This approach allowed him to directly remove the excess skin hanging from the back that was not fully addressed by the lower body lift alone. The vertical incision provides access to the stretched tissue so it can be excised precisely, and the remaining skin can be lifted and re-draped to create a smoother and tighter back profile. After the excess tissue was removed, the incisions were closed in multiple layers to support strong healing and reduce tension on the skin. 360 Body Lift + Vertical Torsoplasty for Body Contouring After 315lb Weight Loss Journey

A circumferential body lift can dramatically improve the shape of the midsection after weight loss leaves behind loose, hanging skin. Our patient is a 68-year-old White female who had previously been morbidly obese and reached a maximum weight of 170 pounds. Through diet, exercise, and GLP-1 use, she brought her weight down to 120 pounds, but she was left unhappy with the excess skin around her abdominal region. To address this, she came to Dr. J. Timothy Katzen for a circumferential body lift, also known as a CBL, to remove the extra skin and improve her body contour.
