This young woman presented with the complaint of chronically tired looking and hooded upper eyelids. She stated that she had tried Botox and other neuromodulators but did not achieve the look she was hoping for.Her initial exam demonstrated higher-than-average hooding for a female in her early 30s. Upon further conversation, she stated that her mother also had heavy upper eyes and had a similar surgery for them when she was in her 40s.We decided together to perform an upper blepharoplasty. With some pre-op oral sedation with xanax, we performed the procedure with just local anesthesia in our office setting. Stitches were removed on post-op day 5 and she returned to work at the one week mark.Her results demonstrate a significant increase in the show of her eyelids which made her appear more awake as well as more youthful, while still keeping a natural appearance.
