bad fat graft to under the eyes, now they're taken out and I feel like a new person

Few years ago I had hollows under my eyes and made one of the worst decisions to get fat graft under the eye/ cheek. Immediately my face blew up more than normal. Over the years, it became bigger bc fat grows and I gained 10lb of weight. The under eye and cheek became lumpy, dragged down due to gravity, One side of my cheek is a lot bigger than the other, I couldn't smile wide bc it looked hideous, I avoided overhead lights and just became super sensitive and Not confident. I was just not looking normal at all. Several people commented that maybe I got something done- totally embarrassed and shyed away from public. I was getting depressed more than ever, not able to face the world doing what I'm meant to do. That's when I decided I needed to fix this problem, get my life back and actually live a life w joy and purpose.
Looked for doctors everywhere, including Amiya Prisad- who is all over YouTube but clearly don't know what he's talking about. He saw me for quick 5 min which I paid $300 and said "it's not bad and he has the best equipment in the world and he could not fix it, I should just leave it alone". I also had consultation with Dr. Ben Talei, whose website says he fixes bad fat graft, he is very nice, but he could not do anything either. Dr. Sam Lam also said nothing is wrong with my face and that I have an image disorder. Geese, they just don't have the "eye" for what's wrong and def do not have what it takes to get the job done.

Relentless and Still tiny bit hopeful, I finally found Dr. Guy Massry. After flying out to see him, he said no guarantees or promises because he does not know what's going on until he opens my eyes up to see from the inside how the graft was inserted. I still made an appointment to have it done. I was sooooo nervous and anxious bc he could not guarantee what I might look like, that I had a nervous breakdown right before the surgery. What astonished me was Dr. Massry was so kind and gentle with me, that he talked to me for a good half an hour while I was crying my eyes out and ultimately gave all of my surgery payments back. We decided it wasn't the right time because I was so anxious. After I got home, I thoroughly thought about my options and decided once and for all that I just could not live a life of purpose and put myself out there if I didnt go through with the repair. I reached out to Dr. Massry again. Most doctors would not give your money back, nor spend half hour comforting you, nor take you back as a patient. But to my surprise, Dr. Massry did all of that! This just made me so confident in him that he's the right kind of doctor and that he himself is confident he can help me.

I am 10 days out of the surgery now and looking so so so much better. He made the fat lump completely disappear without making me look like someone else. He followed the natural contour of my eyes and made it look so natural. Luckily the fat injected was deep into the bone area, so he could take that out without damaging nerves or tissues. Then Dr. Massry took a burner and flattened out the left over fat and made it smooth. If you just take out all the fat then it's going to make you look hollow, but he's a genius in his field and I still look like myself. Now I can smile big and wide, there is no bulgy cheek, no lump, I don't have to hide from overhead lights and I'm just over the moon. I can't thank Dr. Massry enough.

If you or anyone that had bad fat graft to the eye area or any eye problem, he is the only one you should go to period.

Thank you so much Dr. Massry for everything you've done for me. You truly made a huge difference.

Will post pics soon!

I am so thrilled for you. I also recently had revision surgery with Dr. Massry after another surgeon damaged my eyes in an upper and lower blepharoplasty. I also had a complete breakdown the night before surgery. Like you, I was just so anxious and afraid and I came THIS close to cancelling. Dr. Massry was very patient with me and told me that perhaps it would be better for me to delay my surgery for six months. However, after taking a few hours to consider everything, I decided I had to put my trust in Dr. Massry and go ahead as I was very unhappy with the way my eyes looked. I didn’t doubt Dr. Massry’s abilities but he was very honest with me, saying that my surgery was complicated and the results unpredictable. I am now five weeks out, and I am extremely happy with my results. I will post a full review with pics soon. In the meantime, I wish you all the very best with your continued healing.

I had a fat graft with Ben Talei and he ruined one of my eyes. I regret not having gone with an oculoplastic surgeon. My eyes were my best feature, but now I can't bear looking at myself. Thank you for your detailed review. Very helpful!

I am very unhappy with my surgery from him. My lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning and fat grafting left my lower lids extremely hollow and my tear trough more prominent. My eyes look so much worse. Very upset with my results. I regret doing my surgery every day.
