I have a flap of skin at the bottom my belly that touches my private area and underneath there I have about four or five real bad scars from being pregnant, and Ive got bulges from there and the flap place over on top of that might get real bedsores and it gets real sore. I'm 26, and has gastric bypass surgery in Oct 2015. I am now looking into plastic surgery. My insurance will cover a panniculectomy, due to my rashes under my belly hangover skin. I want to have kids within a year or two at most. So I am leaning towards the panniculectomy just so I can be healthier for when I want to have children. It would seem a waste to have a tummy tuck before children.
I have a friend who will have a panniculectomy in a few weeks. She's doesn't have any children, but she and her husband want to try for a child as soon after the panniculectomy as possible. Is it safe or adviseable to put your body thru the stress of a pregnancy so soon after major surgery to your abdomen? I asked if she discussed this with her doctor, and she won't give us a straight answer, which concerns me.
