I had my MM on 10/5 and was given the ok to shower. I have two band-aids with gauze under them on the areas that the drains were taken out of. The gauze gets wet every time I shower and I pat dry and it stays wet. I'm seeing all of these posts about people getting infections. Won't the wet gauze against an open wound cause an infection? I'm asking here because it's a Saturday and my is office is closed.
Is it safe to shower/wash your surgical areas with the water in the DR? I know that the water isn't safe to drink, so it seems that it wouldn't be safe to wash surgical areas. I was hoping someone from DR would have an answer and what the usual protocol is for bathing post-op. Thank you.
The last couple of days the skin on my abdomen feels like it is on fire. There is no rash and doesnt itch, just burns and hurts when I walk. I dont know if this is normal or what I can do to relieve the pain.
I attempted to take my first shower this morning and almost passed out. My husband got in the shower with me. I panicked, started sweating, shaking and got very pale. I had to get out before I blacked out. What went wrong? Any tips? How often should I shower after after a MM? I got a good look for the first time. This is 5 days PO- here is a picture.
I had a spitting suture that I removed it was a dissolving one I believe it was clear like a fishing line. I had my surgery done in Mexico my doctors there. and I'm just concerned because I've been watching my incision on my own I had a extended tummy tuck . With breast lift and implants. when I take a shower it's softens scabs up I'm wondering if I shouldn't not let them get wet
I am currently 19 days post op Tummy tuck, BL and BA and I've noticed this mostly after my shower. The first couple times it seemed to occur on my upper abdomen in a straight line like around where the muscles were sewed back together. The last time I noticed it on my lower abdomen even as far down as on my pubic bone. It always seems to go away within about 5-10 min. I'm just wondering if that is because the blood flow is not getting to that area?
