I had a SCC removed a week and a half ago. The dermatologist did a delayed repair (5 days after the Mohs procedure). It is now 1 week after the graft and when getting the stitches out today the dermatologist wanted to keep the lower stitches on for another 5 days to make sure that the bottom part of the graft took. He thought it looked dark/shadowy. Is there a reason why the top portion would take faster than the bottom? Is there still a high likelihood that the entire graft will take?
Is it good to keep vaseline on a scar where stitches from mohs surgery were removed one week ago and if so for how long. Should I use some type of scar ointment. If so when would I start and what would you recommend.
I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from the right side of my forehead at the hairline 1 week ago. The Dr had to go in 3 times to get clear margins (was 1 1/4in diameter) and had to cauterize several areas during the procedure. I've had severe facial swelling extending to my eyes, cheeks, and jawline. I've had to miss work because of the swelling/pain. I have a lot of burning pain and discomfort that hydrocodone is not touching, but I'm taking Motrin during the day. Sutures have to be in for 3 weeks.
I had MOHS surgery 5 days ago on my scalp, right side, slightly behind my hairline. I have slight swelling around my eye/temple on the right side of my head. Is that normal? I've had some headaches, tenderness and overall aches and pains more on a moderate level but otherwise I feel okay. I'm just concerned the swelling 5 days post-op could be concerning and it seem unusual to me that the swelling is near my temple when the surgery was on my scalp.
had the surgery one week ago, stitches removed yesterday (one week). looks good, slightly red, which i think will disappear with time. Small holes from what i think are th stitches. Will these disappear in time? Is this normal. Thanks.
I had MOHS 1 week ago on my lower leg above the ankle. My skin is thin due to sun and age(70) . Weeping is clear, but pretty steady. Just need to know if this is normal and should I change any thing other than dressing with Vaseline and keeping it covered?
BCC removed from inside right ear (Mohs) last Tues, dressing removed Thurs, stitches to be removed Tues. Skin graft over the site with a cotton ball (now saturated with blood) covered with antibiotic ointment stitched to hold it in place. Have cleaned dried blood from area. Are adding ointment to keep area covered. Thank you.
Hi I had MOHs surgery 5 days ago on my forehead. It was removed in 2 stages. I haven't felt 100% since having it done. I didn't realise my scalp would feel numb afterwards but I now know this is normal however the feeling is weird and I do feel nauseous and groggy just not 100% is this a normal feeling? I don't feel up to working just yet either and this really isn't like me to feel this way. Everyday I do feel slightly better than the one before. Am I expecting too much too soon? Many thanks
