I want to get liposuction on abdomen and flanks. However, I heard that hernia's are contraindicated. I had a small Inguinal Hernia when I was pregnant over 12 years ago. It was never repaired because it went away. I have not had any issues or presence of hernia's since. Is it still there or does it need to be repaired even though it was so long ago?
I am a mother of two, a 4 year old & a 3 year old. I had 2 c-sections. I went to a consultation for lipo an I was told by the surgeon that I had a hernia (as you can see) but he assured me he could work around it. I've also been doing some research on diastsis Recti and I even did the self check (just to make sure, I'm paranoid like that) and I honestly couldn't feel a gap between my abdomen. I am also not a MD so I'm not sure. I just want to be safe and get my money's worth. Help?
I Have an inguinal hernia in left groin over 18 yrs. Does not bother me. I have a 9 yr old. Even throughout pregnancy I was still ok. Is it safe to get lipo in that area and/or tummy tuck? could that be potentially life threatening?
I'm having an umbilical hernia repaired, can I get liposuction at the same time? I work out a lot and am in great shape but can't seem to lose the small layer of fat in my mid section. I was wondering if I could get liposuction done at the same time as my umbilical hernia repair? My general surgeon is going to go through the top of my belly button to keep scarring at a minimum and because the hernia is small, mesh will not be used. Thanks for your advice!
I had lipo a few years back hoping to decrease the size, but I don't believe the doctor understood my needs. I'd like to know what my options are. One doctor suggested I may have a hernia. Excerise, sitting and sex are uncomfortable. I'd like some potential options if possible.
I had liposuction 9 days ago (mons pubis and inner thighs) & am doing well. After my surgery, I used my abdominal muscles a lot to pull myself in and out of bed etc, since my legs were very sore. Now, I have a soreness in the mons pubis area that I'm worried is a hernia from straining. It hurts when I cough or sneeze. My surgeon says I still have hardening of the tissues there, but its the pain when i cough, sneeze, or bend that worries me. Is this common?
